Hip-hop bloggers now have something new from Jay Electronica to analyze while they (and we) patiently wait for Act II to drop. Well, it's not technically new seeing as "Exhibit C" has been out for more than a month, but I'm referring to Jay's stage presence. I had heard a lot of good and bad things about his live show. From this video I can deduce that he, , like a true MC, is able to move the crowd and exhibit (no pun) some breath control. That being said, this is more or less your typical live rap show where the sound is kind of crappy and Jay's forced to shout his lyrics at times. What's most intriguing about this video, though, is that he's joined by Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and Diddy, who all basically act as a three-man hypeman for Jay. It's also crazy to see how most of the crowd knows all the lyrics to this track.
This performance is from Mos Def's Jan. 17 show at the Highline Ballroom in New York City.
