Canadian garage band Japandroids are set to be one of the highlights of the Siren Festival in Coney Island this Saturday (July 18). They will appear alongside fellow up-and-comers (and album of the year contenders) Micachu & the Shapes and established names like the Ravonettes and Built to Spill.
“I Quit Girls” is one of the best tracks in Japandroids’ tiny canon, but they rarely perform it live. They reversed that decision for the Tripwire, performing an FX-laden version of the song that matches some high-pitched emoting from singer Brian King with a gentle wave of shoegazey wistfulness.
