Janelle Monae: "Tightrope" f. Big Boi (Organized Noize Remix)
It's refreshing to see an artist such as Janelle Monae getting the push she greatly deserves. Her proper debut, The ArchAndroid, was a masterful blend of pop, soul, rap, R&B, and almost every damn genre under the sun. But even with that mixture of sounds, she kept everything cohesive. And her promo team for the project is apparently working double-time as it's both putting her out there in the publicand moving tracks like these to the web.
This remix of "Tightrope" features guest Big Boi's producer pals, Organized Noise, changing up the vibe of the track from throwback R&B to guitar-driven 808s funk. I'm not entirely sure which version of this cut I personally prefer, though I'm somewhat partial to that Wondamix featuring B.o.B and Lupe Fiasco.
