Jamie Lidell: "Compass"

British soul pastiche artist Jamie Lidell is set to return this year with Compass, his follow up to 2008's well-received Jim. The album features contributions from Feist, Beck, Daniel Rossen, Chris Bear and Nikka Costa, and also features production work from Grizzly Bear's Chris Taylor. 

Compass is due out on May 18 via Warp, but Pitchfork has a stream of the title track right now. The track is a languid burner that never quite ascends out of its methodical pace. However, the tempo allows for Lidell to show off his rich voice, which has only gotten better.
