The point of posting this video for "Fall For Your Type" is not entirely to highlight what's probably one of the better tracks off Jamie Foxx's forthcoming Best Night of My Life. I just wanted to highlight the fact that so many Drake-featured cuts tend to sounds more like they were made for the Toronto rapper-singer and not the actual artist whose track he's guesting on.
From what I have found, the production for "Fall For Your Type" is credited to both 9th Wonder and Drake's right-hand-man Noah "40" Shebib. The latter's involvement is pretty obvious right from the jump as the muddled drums and brooding synths creep in behind Foxx's sad-man crooning. You might remember that this also happened, albeit more briefly, during Drake's feature on Rick Ross's "Aston Martin Music."
It's an interesting phenomenon -- to me, at least. And it has me wondering if any other artists have done this kind of thing in the past. Hmm.
Foxx's Best Night of My Life is due out Dec. 21.
