James Pants: 'Beat Archive Vol. 2' (Compilation)
Always-experimenting multi-instrumentalist James Pants is back with another set of previously unreleased beats from a time when he dreamed of becoming a hip-hop producer. We heard the first Beat Archive back in September of last year, when I questioned whether or not some rap upstart would decide to hop on the instrumentals. And I can't help but feel that way about the second collection of productions from Mr. Pants, who is really doing himself a disservice by calling these "oddities, soddities, and heresies."
