Back in the early-to-mid 2000s, beyond-eclectic Stones Throw artist James Pants had dreams of being a rap producer. But those dreams apparently never went really went anywhere. Or, in his words, it "[never] worked out so well." He didn't delete the beats he created over the years, though, and he has reached out to his label to put them out as a free compilation. Beat Archive Vol. 1 features some 51 "oddities, soddities, and heresies" from Pants, who is probably too self-deprecating for his own good. Maybe one of his biggest fans, Tyler, the Creator, will hear these and decide to rap over them for a mixtape or EP. Here's hoping.
