James Blake: "Curbside"

DJ Gilles Peterson premiered James Blake’s “Curbside” on his show on BBC Radio One this week, and a radio rip of that track has subsequently surfaced online. This is one of the songs from Blake’s forthcoming “Love What Happened Here” EP, which will also contain a third track titled “At Birth.” Judging from “Curbside” it feels like the singer is getting back to the kind of experimental works he was practicing prior to the release of his debut album this year, with a disjointed groove working around sampled voices and what sounds like a looped trumpet riff. Anyone who was disappointed by the smoother textures of that full-length from Blake might find themselves pleasantly surprised here. [via The 405]
