J Mascis: "I've Been Thinking"
This pretty tune, "I've Been Thinking," was only released on the Japanese version of J Mascis' Several Shades of Why album. It fits in line well with the rest of Why's sparse, thoughtful material, and its melody is as close to frolicking in a sunny field as Mascis gets. But because it didn't make the cut for the US version, Sub Pop is releasing it, alongside Mascis' cover of Edie Brickell's "Circle," as a 7 inch on Nov. 22.
