J Mascis: Daytrotter Session
Although he had a few scattered projects under his belt prior to this year, Dinosaur Jr.'s J Mascis made his official solo debut this past March with Several Shades of Why. Since then, he has been splitting his time between playing shows pushing the album and prepping for his forthcoming tour with Dino Jr. Somewhere in between all of that, he stopped by the Daytrotter headquarters for a four-track session featuring two album cuts, Dino Jr.'s "Alone," and a cover of "Circle" by Edie Brickell & New Bohemians. It's a mostly depressing, though still solid, affair from Mascis, especially when he performs loner anthem "Circle."
