Over the past month or so, J. Cole has kept us updated on his proper solo debut, which is apparently done, and tossed us a couple of random tracks. Neither cut was especially strong, though, as "See It To Believe It" sounded unfinished and "Disgusting" was too hook-heavy.
If you have been waiting to hear him just spit hungry, passionate, and altogether clever bars, you're in luck this morning. For "Return of Simba" -- the sequel-of-sorts to "Grown Simba" -- Cole hits the ground running and doesn't look back. And just when you think he might slow down, he rips apart the third act. To top it off, he co-produced the cinematic track with some help from frequent collaborator Elite. If this isn't from Cole's forthcoming album, I sure hope it finds a spot somewhere because this is way too good to be a throwaway.
