J. Cole: "Nobody's Perfect" F. Missy Elliott
When it became clear that Missy Elliott would be appear on J. Cole's debut, Cole World: The Sideline Story, I half-assumed that she'd be in full-out weirdo mode to complement his more straightforward approach. But on "Nobody's Perfect," she flips my assumption on its head and delivers one of the smoothest R&B hooks of the year over guitar-driven production. Why this track hasn't been released as a single yet is ridiculous. Shame on whoever decided that "Work Out" should have been pushed first instead of this or "Can't Get Enough," the latter of which is finally making the rounds.
