J. Cole: "Neverland" & "Heavy"
J. Cole's Any Given Sunday series of free and/or album-related material continued last night with the release of two free tracks, "Neverland" and "Heavy." As you will be able to tell once you hear them, these cuts aren't from his forthcoming debut, Cole World: The Sideline Story. And that's not to say they're necessarily bad, but they're not that great either. "Neverland," which was co-produced by L.A.'s Chase N. Cashe, is pretty damn rough and, well, so is "Heavy" with its 8-bit production that Cole handled himself. That being said, "Heavy" is sounding like the better of the two and it will be interesting to see if Cole heads in this direction either on his upcoming album or on future projects.
