J. Cole: "I'm On It"

So, about that "Villematic" track that J. Cole leaked to the net a few weeks ago. I had a feeling it wasn't just the name of a new, random track from the buzzing rapper-producer. And it turns out that he's apparently working on a new mixtape called Villematic that will feature the aforementioned title-track and this cut here, "I'm On It."

Rather than handle the production himself, J. Cole has enlisted Syience to equip him with a stripped-down, drums-heavy beat. The more simplistic sound works, though, as it allows for J. Cole's to flex a new delivery/flow throughout the verses. And it makes for a more interesting build toward the somewhat repetitive hook, which works but sounds way too much like every other hook he's recorded as of late.
