I don't know how to feel about this Iron and Wine performance on Leno last night-- on one hand, Sam Beam is finally getting some mainstream publicity, but this performance of "Flightless Bird, American Mouth" coincides with publicity for the teen vampire turd Twilight, which features the track. The performance is appropriately restrained and subdued, and Beam seems unphased by the pressure of the performance. Plus he gets to perform on a stage that bears a facsimile of Unknown Pleasures' cover art. At least the song wasn't in Beverly Hills Chihuahua.
