Immortal Technique: 'The Martyr' (Mixtape)

It's been three years since we previously heard from Harlem rapper Immortal Technique, who dropped The 3rd World with DJ Green Lantern back in 2008. But it's not like he hasn't kept busy. The straight-shootin' spitter chose to take some time off from music to focus on activist work across the globe.

Technique recognized his fan base's desire for new music, though, and recently began compiling unreleased and new tracks. The end result is The Martyr, a free 16-song collection of never-before-heard material from the hyper-political MC. The mixtape features like-minded guests such as Brother Ali, Dead Prez, Chuck D, Killer Mike, and Pumpkinhead, among others.
