Album: Seven Lucky Plays, Or How To Fix Songs for A Broken Heart
Label: Language of Stone (Drag City Records)
Release Date: Early 2008
Recorded and mixed entirely in analog formats by Greg Weeks (member of the Espers) at his Hexham Head studios in North Philadelphia. The record features his hushed vocals and restrained acoustic guitar arrangements complemented by the cello playing of Margaret Weink (Fern Knight), mandolin and harp of Jesse Sparhawk (Fern Knight), and electric guitar of Greg Weeks.
ehh....it gives an erie feeling traveling around through your ears and into your head, but i think it would do best as some forgotten track rediscovered and bured on a b-sides album...i think i already forgot it...i like the espers stuff too, maybe just too skeletal for me tonight
i like the sparness of it actually. to me it came off as pretty haunting.
I hate the intro, but after the one-minute mark it's really nice.

I was not haunted, sorry. Just too spare.

This is amazing. Nice after the disappointing (for me) Espers II.
Did you notice that the music box in the background is playing the melody to "Music of the Night" from Phantom of the Opera? WIGGY...
Holy god, yesss! Thank goodness someone else noticed that. I was going to post about it but didn't want to be the first for fear of seeming extremely dorky!
No worries John, you still out-dork me by a hair.
