Skyzoo's collaborative effort with producer Illmind* is the rapper's chance to show off that he's still about releasing mixtape-style projects after his long-awaited debut, The Salvation, dropped last year. As such, neither of the involved parties want Live From The Tape Deck to be viewed as a proper album. Although, with a track as well put together as this one, it's difficult to see this as a mere "street" record. That being said, "Frisbees" is pretty damn grimy thanks to Illmind's beat. And it finds Skyzoo flexing his straight-ahead rapper chops rather than narrating with a slowed-down flow, the latter of which he did across most of The Salvation. As Skyzoo says in the track's intro: "Figured I'd rap a lil' bit." And "rap a lil' bit" he does. His flow is particularly impressive when he bounces over the first verse's stuttered portions.

*As snobby as it might seem to write this, I'm just glad these two didn't mash their names together for this project. Illzoo or Skymind would have been straight foolish.
