For the past two decades, apart from the Stooges reunion, Iggy Pop has seemed hell-bent on destroying any kind of punk cred he used to have. Which is understandable, I guess, since you can't pay checks with Joy Division shout outs. But here he is, performing with some modern-rock dudes doing "Real Wild Child" and having an awkward-as-fuck interaction with the judges. I wonder if Steven Tyler felt weird knowing that Iggy is the only person this season who is a more important frontman than him. Or if he felt weird knowing he looks just like a mom with a soul patch. But anyway! Iggy on American Idol. It was weird, awkward, and not that great! I wish Ig had taken the Stooges on there and done "Search and Destroy." That would have melted some faces.
