James Friley, AKA Idiot Glee, is a twenty-something musician from Kentucky whose career includes an EP to release tomorrow and an album with his band Bedtime. The few mentions he's gotten reference Grizzly Bear and the like; he's sort of a doo-wap chillwaver and, it must be said, sounds like fellow Lexingtonian Jim Jones (of My Morning Jacket). This video looks like the type of made-from-scratch recording you'd concoct a day before your EP releases to get publicity ... and yet, I'm charmed.
You think he sounds like Jim Jones? The cult leader of The Peoples Temple in Guyana? That's not very nice.
