Last month Norwegian pop-rocker Ida Maria teamed with old Jimmy Osterberg to remake “Oh My God” from her critically acclaimed album, Fortress Round My Heart. In recent months Iggy has made several bizarro career moves, including offering his trademark baritone drawl to songs by Jemina Pearl, Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse, and The BPA, not to mention making his own jazzy French-pop album. Although a match-up with Ida Maria seems almost conventional by comparison, the result turns awkward despite Maria's powerful classic-rock pipes. It’s a keen reminder that the Ig is a long way from his duet glory days, singing “Candy” with the B-52’s Kate Pierson. But hey, if the godfather of punk consents to an animated video better suited to the Disney Channel, who are we to object? [Via: Stereogum]

He sounds a lot like I imagine the Big Bad Wolf to sound. I haven't actually heard the French album. Have you?
