Hot Sugar: 'Muscle Milk' (EP) (Prefix Premiere)

We were hipped to the sounds of Hot Sugar last November, when we premiered some slick footage of the producer, whose real name is Nick Koenig, crafting a beat. Just two months later, we are back with more Hot Sugar, though this time it's more than just some visuals. We're proud to present Muscle Milk, a free, nine-track EP featuring vocals from Aaron Earl Livingston and Baghdaddy.

The EP features more of the experimental, left-field production seen in that video, but it all comes to life on tracks such as previous leak "Don't Cut Down My Tree" and "Not Tonight." The latter is one of the funkier tracks I've heard in a minute, as it rides a punchy bass line and gives way to a series of glitchy solos. Particularly gripping, though, is "Color Wars," which features vocals from Livingston,  It's like a lo-fi, bugged out R&B joint from the future that just screams "add me to your party playlist."

Stream Muscle Milk below and head over to Bandcamp to download it for free.
