Brooklyn synthesizer-lovers Hooray For Earth are dropping their debut album, True Loves, in less than a week and from what we have heard, it's sounding pretty damn good. In particular, there is the poppy and explosive title-track, which the quartet leaked last October. "True Loves" subsequently got the single treatment this past April. Included on the release were several remix, including this one by mysterious NYC act Cereal Spiller.
He or she has stripped away the noisiness of the original and replaced it with spacey blips, slightly over-driven synthesizer punches, and an over-arching dreamy quality. That is, of course, until it breaks out into a mini-dance blitz about halfway through. Director Cyriak has opted to complement Cereal Spiller's sleepy-turned-bouncy remix with a wholly hypnotic video filled with building computer-generated graphics. It feels like you're watching the introduction to one of those old SIM CITY games, just with a much better soundtrack.
Awesome. Song and video.
