Wasn't this what the Vampire Weekend backlash was concerned about: an army of Afropop-inspired bands comprised of white guys? Or was it afraid of waves of jaunty guitars and splashes of bouncy hi-hats? Either way, Holiday Shores could be considered the manifestation of those fears, but when a track is as immediate and engaging as the swirling melodies of "Phones Don't Feud" there's not much to complain about.
