With Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone? Unicorns founders Nick Thorburn and Alden Penner pretty much earned themselves free reign for the rest of their careers over what they wanted to do and who they wanted to work with (within indie-rock-type limits). Thorburn took his sway and formed Islands with Unicorns drummer Jaime Thompson, going on to work with folks like Jim Guthrie and Subtitle. Penner went on to a few different projects, including solo material, All Makes Parts And Collision, Adam and Alden, and Clues (with Brendan Reed of the Arcade Fire). Now, we have a new track from his latest project, Hidden Words (which features Unicorns drummer Jaime Thompson, oddly enough). "Dis" is a quiet track, full of fingerpicked acoustic guitar and soft French vocals. You can watch the video, which features some seals, above. The band's debut, Free Thyself From the Fetters of This World, is due out this fall.
