Other than both playing the Pitchfork Music Festival, Here We Go Magic and Neon Indian don't have a whole lot in common, musically. The former is clean and focused indie pop, and the latter a member of the hazy, distant chillwave community. Underneath that, though, both bands do have a keen ear for melody, and it's on display here, with Here We Go Magic covering Neon Indian's "Terminally Chill." Wiggling keys beget playfully strummed acoustic guitars and, while it's still almost as floaty and detached as the original, there's an undeniable immediacy to Luke Temple & co.'s take that makes it worth a listen or five.
