He's wrong. It sounds like karaoke done by your whiny enemy to a song you don't know and immediately dislike.
Perez says it sounds like No Doubt—specifically, "Bathwater"—but several of his commenters made a more apt comparison to S Club 7. Others speculated that this glowing review was Perez's April Fool's joke, which might be more believable if photos like this one didn't exist:
