Though Nicole Morier just released her debut EP under the moniker Coco Morier, the Los Angeles-based musician is no stranger to the scene. Morier first made a name for herself fronting the electro-trash pop girl duo Electrocute and has since collaborated with producers Bloodshy and Avant, Aeroplane, Wynter Gordon, Selena Gomez, Junkie XL and Tom Jones, not to mention writing and performing on Britney Spear’s last three albums and touring with Charlotte Gainsbourg as her lead guitarist.

Morier’s solo project mixes elements of her past, resulting in a five-track collection of synthesized disco, sleek synth-pop and dancey post-punk. “Hallucination,” is the second single off her debut EP, Strangers May Kiss, and features sugary keyboard riffs guiding her dreamy, lofty vocals. The track, and the album as a whole, was co-written and co-produced by Morier, Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg of Miike Snow, and Magnus Lidehall. The EP was released on June 19 via INGRID, the new label collective of Morier, Miike Snow, Peter Bjorn and John, Lykke Li, The Teddybears, and others.
