Guards: "Silver Lining"
Remember that time New York's Guards dropped one hell of an EP back in 2010? Like the spunky mutant lovechild of Pixies and the Beach Boys, the seven-track debut brought a perfect breed of hazy, lo-fi alt-pop to light. Now, the band is finally gearing up for their debut LP In Guards We Trust, due out Feb. 5, 2013 from Black Bell Records/Velvet Vision. The record's first single "Silver Lining" furthers the lyrical themes established by the Guards EP--namely youth and the yearning for immortality that comes with it.
