Grizzly Bear

"Ready, Able" (Video)

Eerie, vaguely unsettling stop-motion music videos like this one just go to show, even if all of the Edward Cullens in all of the Forks, Washington's in the universe started repping Grizzly Bear, there's just always going to be a cap on the number of people who can appreciate their genuine weirdness.

The band's Allison Schulnik-directed clip for "Ready, Able" features clay creatures, a possible alien abduction, and more Daliesque/PBS surrealism than you can shake a stick at. Really, in a scene where it seems like the lion's share of bands make terrifically stuporous clips, Grizzly Bear deserve some kind of award for their dedication to being interesting.

Fantastic. Can you imagine the time it took to shoot that?
