Grizzly Bear: "Ready, Able" (Live on Letterman) (Video)

Busy Brooklynites Grizzly Bear were bumped from David Letterman’s show a few months back. But the talk show host invited the boys back last night (July 16), and they responded by showing up with a string section to perform the song “Ready, Able” from Veckatimest.

The band has become a lot more accessible since making its debut with Horn of Plenty back in 2004, and Veckatimest moves further away from their lo-fi roots. It makes for pleasant listening, but it would be great if the band could rediscover a few of the rough edges that made their first album so memorable.
