“Grew Up Fast”

Typically, artists dig into their vaults and/or deliver a rushed track when they give away a free song upon hitting a certain Twitter follower milestone. But not J. Cole. After reaching two million followers last night, the Fayetteville, N.C. spitter released a brand-new cut in “Grew Up Fast.” While it might tread the same lyrical ground as previous Cole songs, dude’s still at his best when he’s spitting narratives or getting autobiographical. He weaves those two concepts together he for a soul-sampling track that finds the 27-year-old looking to his past and venting about the current state of hip-hop. You can stream the track below. [2DBz]
