Gray Things is actually just one thing, or person rather. The psych-pop project is the brainchild of Thomas Cooper, an expermimental artist. He creates simple, infectious lo-fi pop songs as part of the Mississippi-based art and music collective, Cats Purring, and also lives in the venue/studio/hangout Cats Purring Dude Ranch.
Today, Gray Things shares "Girl," the first track off his upcoming EP, which has yet to be named. The song features a charming mix of bass, bouyant synth and steady drum machines with Cooper's tenor vocals as he laments, "Girl, you told me that you love me / And then you said that you don't know what love is."
Gray Thing's new EP is set for a November 19 release via London label Make Mine.
