Here’s a bananas (Ha!) clip that
Gorillaz dudes Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett created as a commercial for the Beijing Olympics. Up until the part where the characters actually go into the Olympic stadium, none of this makes you think of Michael Phelps, tight body suits, or
steroids. But it’s still a sweet clip, and at least it’s cooler than the
crap America comes up with when we host the games. [

But this wasn't commissioned by the Chinese, this was created for the BBC and British TV coverage of the Olympics in Beijing. I somehow doubt the Chinese would come up with anything this cool either. But I do believe that they'll be performing some of "Monkey" (the opera Damon wrote that's at the Royal Opera House in London this week) at the opening ceremony.
