Gonjasufi: "DedNd" (Video)

Who is Gonjasufi? According to his label, Warp Records, he is “a mystical individual caught between the Mojave desert, the LA streets and somewhere more cosmic.” That description may not exactly whet the appetite, but this video clip for “DedNd,” which is taken from the forthcoming A Sufi and a Killer album, is much more promising.

Gonjasufi is a collaborator and colleague of Flying Lotus, and they share the same playful approach to electronics, with “DedNd” taking many unexpected and surprising turns as it shuffles through its too-short two-minute lifespan. Based on this, A Sufi and a Killer looks set to be an intriguing listen.

Sounds like someone sampled one hit wonder White Town's "Your Woman" and then laid an unreleased Wesley Willis vocal track over it. Next!

wow, so much hate! 1. A Wesley Willis comparison, however off base it may be, is a good look in my book. 2. White Town? Really? Just cause of the prominent organ melody?

I like that White Town song and Wesley Willis, so this is a win all round for me.
