Gogol Bordello are on the cusp of releasing their fifth album (and major label debut), Transcontinental Hustle, which is due out via Rick Rubin's American Recordings on April 27. For the price of an e-mail, you can head to Gogol Bordello's website and download a free song, "Pala Tute," from the album. It's full of Eastern European touchstones, but it's a little more dialed back than past Gogol Bordello tracks; this one is almost reserved. Maybe Rick Rubin got Eugene Hutz to chill out a little.
In other Gogol Bordello news, there's a lengthy story over at Billboard right now detailing how Gogol Bordello got hooked up with Rick Rubin (via Tom Morello, apparently) and it gives an in-depth look at Hutz's life and Rubin's recording techniques. It's an interesting read. See it here.
