Gogol Bordello have a good relationship with Jools Holland—they first performed on his show some three years ago (see below). The band also made an appearance on a new series of Later this week, ostensibly to promote their new Rick Rubin produced album, Transcontinental Hustle.
“Pala Tute” is the opening track on the record, and continues in much the same vein as the band’s previous albums—frantic gypsy punk, with charismatic vocals from singer Eugene Hütz, who maintains one of the best ‘staches in the business. Clearly, working with Rubin hasn’t changed them much, and nor has Hütz’s move to Brazil, but we'll know for sure when Transcontinental Hustle is released on April 27.
