In case you haven't heard, Stuart Murdoch's latest experiment in twee is God Help the Girl, a rock opera that'll be shot next year. To find collaborators, Murdoch posted an open call for girl singers—the results of which are partially recreated in the video for "Funny Little Frog," a Life Pursuit tune that was originally intended for the God Help the Girl project. This new version is a lot of fun: the lead vocalist, Brittany Stallings, has a soul singer's heartiness to her voice, and the instrumentation is fuller than the original—which might have something to do with the 45-piece ensemble behind God Help the Girl.
