Playing a show at New York's Cake Shop this past weekend, San Francisco's Girls, in what seems to be an unwitting commentary on the current state of trends in "highly bloggable" music, covered "Wild Eyes" by fellow "girls" band Vivian Girls. The neat thing is that, maybe surprisingly, there's a noticable different in the cover; Girls add their own melodic, garage sound to the track and subtract the messy, noisy punk sound of the original. Maybe next is the Dum Dum Girls cover? Or Girls Aloud?
