Girls: "Love Like A River" (Live On For No One) (Video)
Girls continue to find some interesting venues to play to promote this year’s Father, Son, Holy Ghost, this time playing in an empty club for the For No One video team. This version of “Love Like a River” from that album demonstrates how well Christopher Owens can put together a simple love song, complete with a backing that sounds like it could have been ripped straight from the pages of the Band’s catalog. The artfully shot clip helps bring out the nuances of the song, especially when Owens’ face creases up in emotion as he squeezes out the “don’t you know that I want you” line.
