Gilles Peterson, Mo Kolours, Paul White: Mix And Maida Vale Session For BBC Radio 1
Two of Gilles Peterson's latest (and greatest) discoveries are the equally out-there, albeit stylistically different, producers Mo Kolours and Paul White. Their approach to (mostly) instrumental music treads closely to the realm of hip-hop, particularly White's new album, Rapping With Paul White. But both producers also dwell in psychedelic and tribal realms, which you can hear prominently in their recent Maida Vale session for BBC Radio 1. Peterson joined them at the radio station to play their Maida Vale tunes and spin some music from the likes of James Blake, Floating Points, Joe Goddard, the late DJ Mehdi, and Quadron.
