This track was already creepy enough without visuals. But now, "Me and the Devil" by Gil Scott-Heron is even creepier thanks to its accompanying video. The track, which is pretty good actually, features Scott-Heron's raspy sing-song, spoken word approach over steady drums and brooding, ambient sounds And his lyrics only make the tone darker, as he tells you at one point that you can bury his body down by the highway side. The black and white visuals keep "Me and the Devil" fittingly somber, as do the numerous skeleton characters roaming the cityscape. I feel like this is coming out a few months too late, but that's just me.
"Me and the Devil" is off Scott-Heron's I'm New Here, which drops Feb. 22.
