Ghostface: "Baby" ft. Raheem (Video)

It's both sad and noble that Ghostface really, really wants a commercial breakthrough. It's not enough for dude that he dropped two of the best hip-hop albums this decade (Fishscale and Supreme Clientele), he wants that Soulja Boy money. Ghost, and probably his label Def Jam, are positioning Wizard of Poetry as that breakthrough by pairing Ghost up with R&B singers for syrupy ballads instead of stark, theatrical dope tales. "Baby" is the album's first single, and the song just got a semi-literal video that features Ghost trying to get his girl to the hospital to give birth to the titular offspring. For Ghost's sake, I hope this becomes a hit.

Wizard of Poetry is due out on Sept. 22 via Def Jam.

I like Ghosts' lovey dovey tracks, "Never Be the Same Again" is one of my favorite tracks.

Ghost has always been so soulful. It almost feels like the next natural step as he gets older. This track is hot too.

Yeah, I agree Ghost is more soulful (it's why he has been the most vital Wu-Tang member since the mid-90s), but there's no way this is an improvement over Shakey Dog, Kilo, or anything off his 2000s albums.
