New York’s Yellow Ostrich released the title track from their forthcoming six-song release, due out Oct. 22. Alex Schaaf’s distinct vocals are unchanged, but “Ghost” is somewhat of a smooth departure from his sophomore LP Strange Land. The song occupies that sweet spot between chill and lite (is that a hint of 80s R&B?); could be an indie rock musician’s journey into Lionel Ritchie territory, but the band keeps it classy with layered vocals and reverb-heavy guitar riffs that complement the song’s minimalist vibe.
