Anyone still recovering from the news that Peter Hook is about to cover Joy Division’s Closer in its entirety should brace themselves for this. Yes, George Michael has covered New Order’s “True Faith,” and it’s a real bizarro world dip into auto-tuned madness. Michael has slowed the tune right down, and, as the Guardian notes, makes it sound like he has been gorging on that James Blake album a little bit too much. But the song has been recorded for the Comic Relief charity, so it’s all in a good cause and perhaps not a hint of any future recording projects by the singer. Check it out in the clip above.
