Gang of Four: "Never Pay For The Farm" (MP3)
Since the reunion of the original members of Gang of Four in 2004, fans have been waiting for an album of new material from the band. Instead, they were met with Return the Gift, a rehashing of classic Gang of Four tracks. When the rhythm section quit the band in 2008, it looked like hope was lost. However, Jon King and Andy Gill found a new rhythm section and announced earlier this year that they were recording new material with funding provided by fans.
That album, titled Content, will be released January 25 via Yep Roc, but the first track dropped today. "Never Pay For The Farm" is just as political as their early work, if a little less angular and aggressive. Stream the track below, or download it with an email here.
