The members of Gang Gang Dance look like they’ve recovered from losing all their gear in a fire, as last night (March 4) they played a show at the MoMA in New York City. The Fader has this clip from the concert, which was part of a party thrown to celebrate the opening of the Armory Show exhibition. Tickets were a cool $100 a head, so it’s likely that even the most hardcore fans of the band took a rain check.
Fortunately the Fader footage is high quality, and seems to be shot at the end of the band’s set. They’re playing an extended drum oriented jam, which will no doubt be well received if they revive it for the patchouli oil and tie-dye clad masses at the Coachella Festival on April 18. Singer Liz Bougatsos also has an album with her I.U.D. side project coming out on March 24, and believe me, you really need to hear “Glo Balls.”
