Gang Gang Dance: Sign to 4AD, Readying New Album

Gang Gang Dance just played a show of mostly new material in New York this past weekend (Jan. 15) and are set to open up for Hot Chip when they hit these shores in April. This sudden flurry of activity from the band comes in advance of a new album, which has just been announced.

The details are sketchy at present, but 4AD has issued a statement on its official site saying they have signed the band, and the record will be released “later” in 2010. It’s not clear yet whether this is a worldwide deal or if the band will stick to its longstanding home at the Social Registry in the U.S.

In the meantime, Brian Degraw from the band has been uploading a mixture of photos and video clips featuring music from the band to the Gang Gang Dance blog. The clip above is titled “Practice Tape,” apparently taken from a session that took place late in 2009.
