Fresh out on Halloween, GATSBY marks the third full-length release, succeeding the well-recieved Thanks God It's Starky and Starky Hendrix, from 22-year-old MC on-the-rise Gabriel Stark. The free album also comes on the heels of some impressive media co-signs, having been spotlighted in XXL's "The Break" segment in August, and kicking a "Sucker Free" freestyle for MTV earlier in February.
So, progression is the ethos for young Stark, and that's exactly what his new 12-track project exemplifies. Not only touching on a broad range of lyricial topics, including politics and social issues, GATSBY displays his maturity in musical knowledge, rapping over an interpolated version of Cold War Kids' "Hospital Beds" on "Kiddie Pool," and even sampling The Beatles on "Immortal." Golden boy Harry Fraud (French Montana "Shot Caller," Wiz Khalifa "Blindfolds") also lends a hand on the production tip.
