Fujiya & Miyagi have kept their emotional cards pretty close to their chests throughout their electro-rocking career, and new single "Sixteen Shades Of Black and Blue" is no exception. The vocals are delivered in their usual detached style, but this just gives the instrumental more time to shine. A sinister bass pulse acts as the anchor, while layers of other instruments are stacked on top, including a lightly played guitar, keyboards that sound like alarms, and an additional synth that sounds like it could be taking the place of a horn section.
